Michael Behm was born in Potsdam in 1984 and grew up in a musical family. He discovered his passion for music at an early age, and soon chose his first instrument – a violoncello!

But his interest in rock music grew as he got older, and at age 13 he traded the violoncello for an electric guitar.

His first bands and experimentation with various musical styles followed. After his interest in jazz was awakened, Michael decided to study guitar. He embarked on college prep courses at the local music school. During this time, he twice won the Lotto young talent prize in the category "technique" with different bands. In 2004, Michael and his Berlin hip hop band Klartext won the Berlin and Germany rounds in the worldwide Emergenza Festival for newcomer bands.

After completing his college entry exams, he studied jazz guitar with Frank Möbus and later with Helmut Kagerer at the Liszt School of Music in Weimar.

In 2005, Michael and Klartext made their first album, "DerRedeWert."

Michael completed his studies with the equivalent of a master's degree (Diplom) in 2009

and has since lived in Berlin.

On August 21, 2009, Klartext's second album "Kleinvieh macht auch Hits" was released on RECORD [ 1fourFIVE ]. But in April 2010, the members of Klartext decided to go their own ways.

Since mid-2010, Michael has collaborated with the Berlin saxophonist Ingo Stelzer on the Sonoro project.

More information about Sonoro can be found under "Projects."
